Sweet Things on the Square is a new gem in the mountains of North Georgia

Since I first saw the cute makeover of the space that houses Sweet Things on the Square, I was excited to taste what the bakery’s owner would bring to my hometown of Cleveland, Ga.

Lori Worrell, the shop’s owner and baker, brought soooo many delicious things!

^These cookies have peanut butter, chocolate chips and chocolate ganache! They are my favorite thing at the bakery so far (there are so many good things to try!)

Each morning Lori bakes fresh muffins and cinnamon rolls.

Since she is located on Cleveland’s downtown square,  she decided these special “square doughnuts” fit right in.

These pretty Sugar Cookie Cupcakes feature a sweeter-than-usual cupcake, buttercream icing and sugar on top.

She also does Red Velvet Cupcakes with cream cheese icing, and these creative Caramel Apple Cupcakes.

Lori uses her grandmother’s special, 100-year-old Banana Pudding recipe, and sells the pudding in individual sizes. They’re just right for two people to share.

She offers pints of whole or chocolate milk from Clermont, Ga.’s Mountain Fresh Creamery, along with homemade sweet tea and strawberry lemonade.

The bakery is a cozy spot for eating in, with farm house tables and benches, a small table for kids and a chalkboard for doodling.
